Operational Identification Challenge 105

Post by K4KittyCrew »

Right then members, your challenge is to identify this operation from Bomber Command in WW2.
CLUE - All three type of aircraft were used in similar quantities.
Good luck!

Name of target / city and date of operation, required.

Pos ID as Munster, prob 11/12 June 1943 when '72 aircraft - 29 Lancasters, 21 Halifaxes, 21 Stirlings - were dispatched on an interesting raid. All the aircraft were provided by 8 Group and it was really a mass H2S trial ... 5 aircraft - 2 Halifaxes, 2 Lancasters and 1 Stirling - were lost, 6.9% of the aircraft involved.'

Cheers,

Richard
