Alan, sorry to hijack the thread but I couldn't help myself ......... :D
Kerry, Don't get Max too worked up, he'll be thinking of scenes from 'The Great Escape' with Steve McQueen riding up and over those mounds / hills.
I'm thinking a parachute drop prove more benefical .................

On second thoughts, being a BM, he should fit a couple of cannons from an Me110 on the front. I had thought of "Schrage Musik" on the pillion seat but, if Norfolk is so flat, what is the point.

Oh that is just brilliant John, I'm going to print that off! What was the thread about, being old and grumpy?? Far from it, apart from the inhabitants of Norfolk of course who are terminally grumpy! I agree Kerry, cannons are much more effective, I won't have to get so close.

Sheringham is OK but we choose not to go there in the Summer months because it is popular and thus crowded. But if you like trains then ideal! There is a nice hotel at Blakney (a little more select of course) but I would recommend either Morston Hall or - but a little too young for you perhaps as it is "romantic", the Windmill at Cley. I am not sure though if they take Rockers even if they are born again? I presume you are also aware that East Kirkby and Conningsby are only a couple of hours away (by car) so less of course upon a motor-bicycle.

I must confess admiring your stamina - I would baulk at driving by car to Dorset, and so travelling upon a motor-bicycle would be unthinkable.

John, shouldn't it be titled "The Great Invasion" because at the moment Max is trying to get in not out. That comes later.

Still safe in Essex, staying at Saffron Walden, but over the border tomorrow! Great day at Duxford today including an unplanned flight in my favourite aircraft of all time, the de Havilland Rapide. Only 55 years wait since my first ever aeroplane flight in one!

Brilliant! Did you find your initials carved in the wing spa?

Enjoy the rest of the trip, if you bump into David's great great great grand-daughter (she of the T-shirt) a few more pics might be in order ...
