W/Cdr D D Rogers 37944

Post by smudgersmith218 »

Hi Gents,

Looking for wartime details on the above, joined No.218 Squadron after completion on his Lancaster conversion at No.3 L.F.S RAF Feltwell on July 27th 1944. At the time the squadron was still on Stirlings. He was posted ( date unknown) to assumed command of No.214 (FMS) Squadron flying the B17 Fortress. :? :?

TIA

Hi Steve,

Wing Commander D D Rogers took command of 214 Squadron in August 1944 until March 1945 when Wing Commander R.L. Bowles took over.
I looked in my files and 214 Squadron is the only Bomber Command Squadron that Wing Commander D D Rogers commanded.
Regards.
