Father

Post by matabele »

My Father Edwin (Ted) Wiseman was a pilot with 149 Squadron from Feb 1944 to September 1944. Unfortunately he has past away and as with a lot of ex servicemen, did not talk much about his WWII years. If possible, I would like to know more about him, his crew and any other information about his time with 149 Squadron. My mother (nee Aline Wakefield) was with the WAAF and they met and married while they were both based at Lakenheath. I do know he was on the Titanic III operation but that's about all.
It would be very much appreciated if you can help in any way.
Kind regards,
Peter Wiseman

Peter

I would highly recommend that you apply for his service record, utilising the next of kin route so that you get maximum information https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records. This will provide you with information on all his postings, trade(s) and rank(s).

Once you have this, you will be able to dig deeper on each posting, thereby building up a picture of his training and operational service

Good luck

Regards

Pete
