B24J Liberator KL372

Post by johne »

Thank you for letting me join your forum. I have been doing some research on a couple of friends of my fathers whos aircraft failed to return from a night flight out of Abu Sueir and the search brought me to this site largely because I put in the reference KL372 which was the aircraft in which my dad was a flight engineer/co-pilot to Sgt Paver. I was taken to the page below from 2014

viewtopic.php?t=1312&start=70

I have the reconnaissance photo referred to in this posting made by Ludford 101in his posting and my father was on board the aircraft KL372 although he has made no mention of an engine being taken out during the bombing exercise. In his log book he refers to this mission and so I just thought that I would let you know. I have quite a few photographs including one where the B24 has an escort of Mustangs from the American air force. I belive that the Mustangs are flown by airmen from the Tuskegee group as the tail planes are definately a different colour to the rest of the aircraft.

Good stuff, Johne.
Nice to be able to join the dots with your fathers detail.
Feel free to post more images.

Thank you and yes I will post more photographs. Do you know if the original poster going back to 2014 is still around? He mentions the navigators log book and this must have been the same nav as my dad has referred to in some of the photos that I have

You may want to send the original poster a PM.
If he's still linked to the forum, it may prompt him to reply.
