Another quick update

Here's a photo of the semi-completed control column stop and shroud assemblies. The LH one (P1) incorporates the stop mount assy from Stirling N3654. The RH (P2) one has a stop bolt retrieved from the SEBRO works, so is also original. To complete the whole assembly, I'm just waiting for some witches hat section aluminium to act as a stiffeners to the plate part of the shroud. Once I get them they'll be drilled and rivetted to suit.

Hi JL,

It's great to see these updates you post.
I like being able to see the "Workings" for want of a better word. It gives us a better understanding of how things work.
Most of this will be covered eventually, but now I know what is there it helps build a better picture of the aircraft.
We are fortunate to have you posting here.

Regards,
Wayne.

Thanks Wayne and John

I'm only too glad to post on here as it gives you all a chance to see the (slow) steady progress. I've been following the progress with the 1/48 Stirling and you're a braver man than I am gunga din! If you need any specific info to detail the cockpit etc, just send me an email :D

Here's our latest update on progress. Having just been supplied with the correct hat section aluminium, I've been able to complete the first of the control column stop assys. The one pictured incorporates the block and stop bolt from the P1 side of Stirling I N3654, the P2 one should hopefully follow on shortly

A quick update showing the seat rollers and special bolts that will allow us to progress the mounting of the seat assembly to the flight deck. A special thank you to Forum Member, Guy Massey who put us in touch with a friend of his who kindly made them for us free of charge. At the top right side of the picture are 2 original bolts and rollers which we recovered from an aircraft dump and will be incorporated into the build.
