The Russian one has been the subject of much discussion on various forums as many believe it still languishes in a hanger (maybe in a few pieces) in deepest Russia. How good would that be if it were true!

Perhaps now the Russians are a bit more open about things we could ask them. It would be a stunning find if they have.

Been there done that
'Allegedly', half of LK615 was moved to an airfield closer to Moscow, at which pointhe authorities got wind of it and it was all stopped. Despite eye witness accounts, we've never seen a photo in it's current state and even with the RAF Chief of the Air Staff corresponding with his Russin counterparts, nothing further has been revealed.
Truth or urban myth..............????

Re: Stirlings with other Countries ..............
I remember watching 'Top Gear not so long ago and they were filming somewhere in Russia and the gents were climbing all over all types of old Migs and alike. First impressions were that these aircraft weren't going anywhere too soon ............... so it would not surprise me if someone located some WW2 aircraft lying around.

I get the impression that the Russians don't throw anything away unless they can help it. So hope springs eternal

Getting in is one thing, finding out who to talk to (and ...ahem; pay) is another
