Re: Short Stirling N 6046...crashsite located !Recklinghause
hello together,
post here the article from the local-press / Recklinghausen, about the meeting on Stirling-crashsite, 1st to 3rd July 2014 .
Very dissapointed, that don´t mentioned Uwe Benkel / Vermisstenforschung and our efforts....., and about the committed wreckparts found by us....( from two Stirlings: N6046 and HA-U ).
No words about our efforts to find the crashsite...
thats the way of thanks for... (?)
regards

Rene (Karacho),
I would like to make it public on here that I was outraged that my comments I made regarding you and Uwe were not mentioned in the paper. I was interviewed and this was translated in German to the press officer..... I have my father and Liz who were present who also stressed the importance and tireless work and assistance you have given us, we would not have found the crash site and without you it would be a blank page in my research.....I cant thank you both enough.
As for the German newspapaper I am unsure and clueless to why they did not include all of the information I spoke to them about you!
I am uspet as much as you are as you would see by my emails to Matthias Kordes and you and Uwe. I do feel that emails from Uwe and this post only highlight and put me in a bad light on this forum which is not fair and upset you think that of us.
I cant read or speak german and could only get my point across by translated to Matthias to the press officer, its unfair that they did not include your names but what could I do, we are not responsible and I have sent emails to see if they will rectify this.
The door was always open to you and Uwe to be a part of the meeting and I promised and carried out that promise that in your absence I would mention your names for the paper. They have printed something short, abbreviated of what I originally spoke to the them about.
Whether there was a reason they had to not include your name I do not know why?!!
I have asked Matthias to contact the paper and see what can be done.
Regards
Ian Davenport

Hi Karacho
I think that you have just found the main issue in dealing with the press (whether it be UK or German), they will only print what they want to print and often take discussions out of context. in this instance I'm a bit surprised that they haven't mentioned you, considering that you are a German national assisting a British citizen; reconciliation and all that. Hopefully, they will update the articele with more information
regards

hello Ian,
hello John,
i think so too, the local-press will have a reason for that.......(?)
Mr. Pfeffer from the local-press was writing an article some years ago about this Stirling-N 6046...., i think he continued "his story" in his own way...
Ian...no problems with you, its all OK. It was a nice meeting and interresting for me too.
PS: next project is running....a crashed Lancaster MK-1, after a bombraid to Wuppertal. Some crewmembers died by impact.´We know about the crashsite and found wreckparts last year, now i´m searching intensive in this area again. More details will following...
kind regards
Karacho

Hi Karacho
Nothing seen yet, although Ian has been in contact to arrange a visit to the Project. I assume he wants to formally hand them over

Hi John and Rene ,
I will liaise with you John 'RE the wreck parts from the other Stirling Rene gave to me.
I am hoping a Saturday towards end of August or early Sept .
I will be writing to the royal family to tell them of your good work Rene. But like I said I have just started a new job and have a young child which takes up lots of my time.
Rene can u arrange for the plaque to be put up in the crash site for my family?
