Re: Not Your Everyday Photos of WW2 Aircraft and alike
A few interesting shots of what is probably a Liberator of 104 Sqn C.M.F I say this as the photographs came with a logbook and lots of interesting paperwork to a navigator on 104 who took part in approx. 13 raids towards the end of the bombing campaign in N.E Europe from March 1945.
The raid took place on 16/3/1945 to the harbour installations at Monfalcone.
Liberator C KL 372 Pilot Sgt Paver
Written on the back of the target photo is ...
'taken during a 3 minute bombing of harbour installations and floating dock Monfalcone - N.Italy'
Blitz time - 15.30 - 15.33
Bombed Z = 1 1/2 mins
2nd Op
The next few shots are quite spectacular...
The picture of the bombs falling towards the aircraft has written on the back that the port inner engine was knocked off !!! and I think that is what you can see in the other shot of the smoke trailing...
Not seen these before .. anyone else ??
Cheers
Gary

Yes, great photos there, Gary .............. not everyday you see a 'large ship' on it's side, throw in a Liberator with RAF detail and this is quite a unique photo!
Thanks for sharing.
