Hi Pete, any chance of copying and pasting the image? I couldn't bring it up.
In the meantime, here is a 'cutaway' image.
Cheers,
John

First draft of the diagram, as requested.

A local exhibition is being put together following the discovery of photographs of the loss of L9501, so the idea is to include an accurate representation of the aircraft. All details of the research to date can be found in the thread mentioned in my first post. You can post comments on here and I will pass them on to Matthias.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Pete

Thanks John

My thoughts on Matthias's drawing are as follows:

The camouflage line should be higher up the sides of the fuselage (ie more black needed); As an aside, should this actually be a straight line?
There should be three distinct openings beyond the beam gun hatch
The TL-Y lettering should be larger.

I am not an expert, so this may be inaccurate, but I thought I would throw it into the mix.

Pete

Yes Pete, I agree about the camouflage line.
The thread on the Handley Page Halifax Collection should clear up any indecisions. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=876

The camouflage line is a concern as most photographs seem to show a straight line "join" for early versions, although the photograph of TL-Y at RAF Docking shows a wavy line. Were there any regulations / orders regarding camouflage which might help solve this conundrum?
