Short Stirling & RAF Bomber Command Forum

Hi,as a new member many thanks for allowing me to join your forum.I am researching the above airman and know he ls interred with his other crew members in Rheinberg war cemetery germany. He was flying in Halifax II JB782 when they were shot down by a night fighter flown by Hpt Hendrich Wohlers of 1/NJG 6 at 02.30 hrs. Whilst looking through the cwgc casualty list i found another 102sqdn crew halifax JD408 had also been killed around the same time. Could you tell me if it was the same fighter or something else which brought them down. Also, in sgt marsh's crew JB782 their are two pilots listed in the cwgc? Regards Frank

Hi Frank ... There was a good book on 102 squadron which at the moment I can not remember that may have some info .. but just wondering if you interest extends to a medal group that was sold recently on the bay with a casualty scroll to this airman ?..
