Just when you think that you have sampled every possible Short Stirling photo possible, along comes another couple of great photos.
Some of these we have seen but I believe the angles of the photo taken, are different. Some, completely new to me ........... I think! ( having posted so many over time, it is hard to keep track of them all )

You ought to be a magician, as you always seem to be pulling yet more Stirling photo's out of the hat!!

Spot of flak damage there by the looks of it

It looks to me as though the a/c is undergoing major repairs. The fuselage and wings and tail appear to be painted in undercoat? ...whilst the rest is standard camouflage scheme. She must have received a good old pasting on her last "Op"

That mid upper turret fairing looks vastly different to the one supplied on the Airfix kit doesn't it  ......if your building a Mk I version that is.
These photos are excellent source material ;) ......thanks again "Kitty"

Hello Alan and Tom ............... Just looking at this last photo image of the Stirling and was wondering why the colouring is as such. As you mention Alan, there is flak damage and I'm thinking out aloud that maybe this aircraft is in for major repairs from damage caused from it's previous operation.

1 - Flak damage.
2 - Mid upper damage with the Rose turret being replaced?
3 - Thus being the case, possible panel damage / replacement ............ hence the 'primer' colour? ............. yet to be finished in standard colour theme?

Anyway, just some thoughts.
