I'm new to all this, but the little I've read suggests the "Lost Bomber" website is not well regarded. Can any one confirm that three Stirlings flown by 90 Sqd with the same ID, WP-O, where lost in the consecutive months of May, June and July 1943. The crew names at least, on the aforementioned website, do correspond to entries in the CGWC register. I don't have access to any of Chorley's vols. so I can't x-check myself.
The reason I ask is that my late father, 52749 F/L L.T. Burge, flew as w/op in "B" Flight 90Sqdn in Lancaster WP-O in Jun 1944.
Thanks,
Chris.

Bruno,
Many thanks for that. So the "lost bomber site" was correct in numbering three losses all with WP-O. I wonder if my Dad and crew new about that when flying LANC WP-O.

Welcome Krisbe
I am sure they would have known the fact that it was a new replacement aircraft... Rumour control in the RAF is no different now than it was then I am sure. I hope that your father had good luck in her...

Re: 90 Squadron Stirling Lossess - WP-O
Dee,
They did have good luck in Lanc WP-O. I don't know the plane's serial numebr yet, but I'm working on it. The last ten trips of my Dad's tour were in LANC WP-X , a plane that was lost a few weeks later (serial no. HK602). Seeing as my Dad and crew had their "End of Tour" photo taken in front of Lanc WP-O, they must have had a sentimental attachment to it.
