Air Marshall Sir Arthur Harris and General Curtis E. Lemay:

Post by smudgersmith218 »

Gents,

Just ordered, !!

Paperback: 156 pages
Publisher: AuthorHouse (13 Jun 2002)
Language English
ISBN-10: 0759659400
ISBN-13: 978-0759659407
Product Dimensions: 22.9 x 15.2 x 0.9 cm

This "comparative analytical biography" is really about bombing strategies and their results more than being biographical about either man. As such, it is a useful analysis and avoids being overly judgmental about LeMay and Harris personally.

Hi John,

Finished it a few days ago. An interesting read, without getting into a slanging match with a few on the forum, all I will say is that if Bomber Command had an commanding officer of LeMay's ability things could have been a whole lot different, hindsight yes but LeMay's Command of the 8th - 15th and the R.A.F in the Mediteranian speaks volumns of such a fine commander. ;)
