This looks like a Savoia-Marchetti SM.92 twin engined Italian. 2 seat long ranger fighter, 2 DB 605 engines, crew carried in Port boom.
How did I do?

Re: Aircraft Identification Challenge 174
OK John, you put this up on Friday afternoon after I went early so I would not see.
I was sure it was a Bristol Mercury engine so initially considered the Miles Master and Martinet, however the V windscreen makes me think its an Airspeed AS 45 Cambridge?

More grief from John L.
Looks a bit like an Anson but no.
Its not that common but more than one built.

Re: Aircraft Identification Challenge 172
Do we have a correct answer?
I think it may be a Heinkel He 111 H-6

But I could be wrong.
Happy New Year to all.

Spot on. Interesting aeroplane which according to the information that accompanied the photo was an engine testbed for the Arsenal VB10, which was not very successful!

Re: Challenge 169
OK came to this one a bit late looking at the previous posts.
Took a bit of digging had to be a twin or a single engine mounted above the cockpit as the air intake and exhaust are on the top of the cowling.
Think I have got there in the end
Is it a Fairchild 91 Baby Clipper?
