Cheers, all.
Thankfully, it was saved from the bin, because that was where it was going to go sadly.

Re: Help required
Gent, Just discovered that this is a painting by David Thornton - Smith who was an official artist for the Air Ministry. On closer examination the artist had signed and dated the work. ( The frame, obviously not the original had covered the details ) It is dated July 1941. There are examples of his ...

Hi Gary,
It is a real gem mate. 1941, trying to establish the artist. A very welcome addition to my collection.

P/O Kenneth Stanley Helliker 121437
Hi, I have just obtained the log book of the above mentioned pilot. He served briefly with 218 Squadron between November & December 1942, completing 6 operations. His log book is not particularly well written and informative. The log book stops abruptly on December 2nd 1942, there are no further...

"The man who would not Die" by Desmond Plunkett
Hi,
Trying to locate a copy of this book published in 2000, there are a few out there but rather expensive (£50-£70).
I am hoping someone may have a copy and would be kind enough to scan the pages relating his loss over Emden on June 20th 1942.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you.
Steve

Re: Bomber Command (Attached to Coastal Command)
Bob,
No.76 and 78 Squadron I think from memory were attached at one point. I know a number of 2 Group Squadrons were, I have a list between 1940 and 1941 somewhere.
Are you interested in a certain period ?
