Re: Fl/Lt Leslie Victor Walsh 150 Squadron

He was very lucky, as the night after his last op with the King crew, they were lost. As for his Commission, i have him in LG 14th May 43

Re: Fl/Lt Leslie Victor Walsh 150 Squadron

The difference in service numbers in the LG is that one is his enlisted number, and the shorter one is his commissioned officer number. At the time of his death, he was 150sqdn Gunnery Leader, and as far as i can ascertain by looking at crew lists, as Gunnery Leader he did not fly on any ops. Wellin...

There is in fact, every possibility that Ken Gibbs was the age stated at time of death, when you take into account the story of a Canadian airgunner, who lied about his age when enlisting, and was killed in April 45 at the age of 16.

Re: Flight logs

If you are referring to his flying logbook, then the answer is no. If you eventually find out information on any squadron's he was with, you can then look at their record books for details of flights/ops

Mick, not a supply drop to the resistance, but a "Gardening" (Sea Mining) op to the area off La Rochelle.

Re: RAF Wethersfield

Wayne, Mac, is actually 415170, F/O E.M McAlister RAAF, not NZ as quoted. I had my suspicions with the darker uniform, and downloaded the Dec 44 ops book out of curiosity. Full crew.... J.28013, F/O T.L. Hogg. Aus.419391 F/Sgt T.G Mouser. Aus.415170 F/O E.M. McAlister. Aus 419766 F/Sgt A.H. Purcell ...

Re: RAF Wethersfield

Welcome to the forum. I would concentrate more on 299sqdn, as according to Tom Mousers service record, he was only with 196 a matter of a couple of days before being posted on to 299, so there will be nothing to gain from anything to do with 196sqdn. Nice set of photo's.
