Re: A Thousand Shay Fall
I've just finished reading this book and I totally agree. A Sterling effort from a Stirling pilot. Murray Peden's book gives a fantastic insight into EATS training in Canada. It has answered a lot of questions as to what went on at the various stages of training. It was also good to hear from a bomb...

Re: Canadian Sojourn
I've checked the Heritage museum website and unfortunately we'll be there a couple of days early for most of the flights. They start in June. Damn!!!

Canadian Sojourn
We've finally done it. This week we booked our holiday in Canada. The first section is in BC and a cruise to Alaska and then off to the east coast. We have two nights in Toronto (28/29 May) so will hopefully be able to include a visit to the Warplane Heritage Museum (may need lots of begging and scr...

Re: ATS Lessons
Max the course at SFTS was divided into two sections. ITS (Initial Training Squadron ) covered basic work on Oxfords and then Ansons up to gaining their wings. ATS (Advanced Training Squadron ) then taught the finer points of flying on Ansons. Until I can work out the codes, I don't know what was co...

ATS Lessons
I'm currently typing up my uncle's log book. When I got to his ATS training at 6SFTS, the lessons were in code. While this was also done for his time at EFTS, a sheet with the lessons and codes was included. This is not the case for the ATS training. The codes are: A 1 to 4 B1, B1(P), B2, B3, B7 BP1...

Something you won't hear from a GPS in the UK
On our trip through Central Australia, the GPS piped up with -" At the next roundabout take the third exit in 647 kilometres ". Our trip lasted 6 weeks covering 5 states and doing 9500 Km. First time in a motorhome. Enjoyed it but don't know if we'd do it again. Main benefit was being able...

Re: Link Trainer
I've now come up with another problem. My list of exercises for the Link Trainer only go from 1 to 8. However, in EFTS my uncle has done Lessons 1 -14. What are each of the lessons?

Link Trainer
Can anyone help with the meaning of "P&F" when using a Link Trainer. The first two sessions my uncle did on the trainer were marked as "P&F" in his logbook. He the went through the series of lessons during his time at EFTS.
