I'm working my way through my uncle's bomb aimer's log book and came across codes used for his practical bombing and gunnery training and was wondering if anyone knew what the individual flying duties were. Is this another example of the main criteria on maximum wingspan was that it would fit through the hangar doors?

I've always wondered why they needed to create such a tall undercarriage. It's not as though it needed that much ground clearance.
