RAAF & RNZAF aircrew cadets circa 1941 picture

Found this image on e bay. The photograph is dated 10th October 1941 and features Australian and New Zealand? aircrew cadets. I wonder how many of these chaps were destined for Bomber command?...how many would return home?

The image/article was featured in the San Francisco examiner.ANZAC,s in SF The familiar RAF "thumbs up" is given smilingly by some of the 600 Australian & New Zealand airmen who arrived by passenger liner in San Francisco yesterday. They said they were on their way to "Berlin via England" and left by train for secret Canadian destination. .....continued page 6
