One of my Lanc subject for this year.

Post by Darren Greenwood »

As I have Canadian heritage anything from 6 Group (or anything Canadian) peaks my interest. This is the kit in question.

The decals represent RF128 which was a Lancaster B.Mk.I built at Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft at Baginton in Coventry. RF128 was on strength with 424 (Tiger) Sqdn RCAF, which had re-equipped with Lancs in January, 1945. 424 Sqdn was based at Skipton-on-Swale after returning from North Africa, and remained at Skipton-on-Swale for the rest of the war.

RF128 was scrapped in March, 1948.

Nav's angle poise lamp fitted.

Lamp painted and Nav's black out curtain made from tissue.

And both painted the white is the outside of the lamp itself.

Looking good Darren - the lamp is very impressive especially at 1:72!
