Screaming Angels: Rolls Royce Nene engine and DH Mosquito

Post by lazlo »

ImageMy new book is out. It's basically a spy romance based around the scandal when Rolls Royce gave 10 of their new Nene engines to the Russians. What they didn't know was that the Russians had a plan to steal the secrets of the Nene's Nimonic alloys, used in its special rotor blades. At the time the Nene was the most poerful jet engine in the world but even British jets weren't using it yet. A copy ended up in the MiG-15 and we all know how successful that was in the Korean War at the start of the Cold war.

The book doesn't feature Stirlings but my first wartime novel, Attack Hitler's Bunker! was based around the Stirling. However, Screaming Angels features a whole chapter on the De Havilland Mosquito and another on the Gloster Meteor and MiG-15, and the whole book has features my extensive research on Rolls production methods and factory in Derby.

If you like a good spy romance and a bit of technical stuff on the side, you will like it. It would also make a good Christmas Present for a romance or aeronautical buff.
