Airfix Stirling Mk V

Post by Sabre »

Hi All

Airfix Mk 1/111 with Heritage conversion, 196 Sqn colours, only aircraft I could find pictures of both sides. Maybe could do with a coat of matt, will fit the pitot probe and nose winch when I can find suitable items in the spares box. Had to use an old loft kit for props and coupe as the kit items were not usable, think it was an original kit from 1966. Did not realise just how different each Mk V was, spinners, no spinners, windows above wing, 4 or 5 or 6, Port cockpit windows, 1 or 2? Would have liked to have done a camo scheme but the references differ, dark green/medium sea grey or extra dark sea grey/dark slate grey uppers surface. Hope you like.

An excellent build, Cliff, especially considering the fact you did a conversion and in NMF. Well done!

Cheers,
