Ok, without further a do, here is the answers for the crossword.
I want to thank all those who made the effort to 'have a go' which in turn, makes my effort to compile all the worthwhile.

Hi John - thanks for all your effort to set this up, it was a good challenge and very enjoyable. I still think a Buna is a curry but there you go

Ah ha, well done John. I got that top left hand corner in a complete muddle......and could I think of Hereford? Hampden yes, but Hereford escaped my atrophying brain! I've never heard of Buna, I had Ruhr. Good fun though.

Me too Alan at one point - of course we were blinkered and thinking Allied/British Army.
