Gents,

A true gentleman and Stirling legend, Squadron Leader Philip John Lamason DFC mid2, RNZAF has passed away.

Phil operated with No.218(Gold Coast) Squadron completing a tour when losses on the squadron were at times 10% per operation. He was a legend within the squadron, and that is from his peers.

RIP big fellow

Steve

Thanks very much, Steve. The Kiwis gave us some great pilots ( my fathers' pilot, Joe Lennon also RNZAF )

Hi John,

Without upsetting the 5 Group and 1 Group lads!!! No.3 Group was fortunate in that it had a large number of Kiwi pilots and crews amongst it's ranks, the group benefited from it throughout the war.

Cheers
