S/L LINDSAY DRUMMOND, DFC, NZ413043. Pilot 149 and 75 Squadrons.
Lindsay Johnson Drummond, died at his residence St Vincent Avenue, Auckland, New Zealand, on Saturday 23rd
while sleeping in his favourite armchair in the lounge of the apartment building he has been living in for many years now.
During WW2 Lin completed 30 Ops on 149 Squadron and was awarded an immediate DFC for returning his damaged Stirling
to England. After a training period at 1651 OTU, he was posted to 75(NZ)Sqn in March 1944. He and his crew converted to
Lancaster's and completed another 20 operations which included being wounded by flak. He completed more than 50 operations overall,
and was O.C. A flight 75(NZ) Sqn.
