Gents,
A real long shot here. Looking for a photograph of the above pilot who completed a full operational tour with No.115 Squadron in 1941 and was awarded a DFM in the process. He reached the rank of flight lieutenant on completion of his 2nd tour in 1943/44. Briefly served with No.623 Squadron.
Does anyone have any contact with the 115 Squadron Association, or have a contact with the squadron?
Any help or pointers welcome.
Cheers
Come-on you LIONS !!! (Sorry John )

Hi John,
Thanks mate but not my man.
After a few hours with the ORBs I have discovered that on leaving No.623 Squadron he was posted to No.26 OTU ( anyone got the ORB ? ). In mid 1944 was sent to No.90 Squadron as a flight commander and was awarded the DFC in November 1944.
Still after a photograph !!
Thanks again John,
Steve

Flt lt David Smith was my father. I can send you a photo if you let me (pcs@which.net) have your email. I am trying to get my brother to find my father's service logbooks (copies) which he made. I have the post Nov 1944 logbooks when he joined BOAC where he started on Dakotas and ended up flying 747s.

Hello Paul, let me echo Garys thoughts and welcome to the forum.

I just wanted to acknowledge your post.
