James, being that these modellers are so specific in detail, I was hoping to find some written detail ......... viewtopic.php?f=7&t=259
or there main site ........... ( I know this is only a modelling site but when you see the detail that these people go to to be precise, surely such signage must be on display. Have a look at the Halifax)

Re: Nice clear Stirling shots.
Hi K4KittyCrew
Been on holiday for a week so tawdry in my reply!
The Halifax is amazingly detailed, I intend to get to the same level of detail (eventually!). However I prefer to have photos rather than rely on an interpretation. For example the Stirling model on the Italian site, amazing as it is, has two (incorrect) escape hatches on the canopy.
I'm currently wondering about the flare chutes - I think that one chute had a door that you had to remove but the other chutes I suspect had spring loaded flaps, but I've never seen any clear pics of the underside at all! Also wondering where the trailing antenna emerged from the aircraft, was there a door? Were the lead weights flapping on the fuselage or pulled inside?
Lots of detail yet to be found!
James
