There is no paralell in warfare, to such courage and determination in the face of danger, over so long a period. Such devotion, should never be forgotten.

Re: 218sqdn Stirling EE937
Hi Alan,
Good post mate and its been a long time since I have seen the photographs of the wreckage.
I was in contact with the family of the crews navigator Sergeant Harry Exley back in 2002. I have two more photos they sent me which if your interested I will send on. I would like to post but they were sent privately.
Kind regards
Steve.
PS : interested and related info.

Would love to see the other photo's Steve. The photo i have was sent to me by one of Harry's relatives, back in 2009, like yourself, most of the photo's i have of aircrew, were sent for my own private album, but this one is on my "ok" to use list.

Re: 218sqdn Stirling EE937
Evening People,
A couple of weeks ago, I had an email from Dirk regarding a post from Jill ( whose uncle, JH Benny ) was a crew member.
This week, I had an email from Jill wishing to thank the members and the forum as a whole, for their efforts in helping to find more details on the crew.
Both Dirk and Jill have made contact and are very appreciative to everyone who help piece details together, through this forum.
It is these type of situations that make our research all the worthwhile.
Thank you one and all.
John

Re: 218sqdn Stirling EE937
Alan,
Here is a better crew photo and nice photo of Exley. I am trying to locate the third which was a view of a Short Stirling.
If you have any additional gen I would be interested.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for posting. It would seem that the one you have, which is the same as mine, was looked after, unlike my tatty one . Looks like the aircraft had done a bombing op, and a gardening op, at time of photo. No other gen to hand, as i lost all, in a pc meltdown, can't even remember which relation of Harry i was in touch with, but had luckily saved photos to disc

Hi Alan,
I learnt my lesson last year, I have two hard drives and save to both.
I think I may have found the Stirling pic, but will post tomorrow.
Regards
Steve
