Ok, thanks to moderator, Alan ............... we have some 'bomb plots' from actual bomber command operations, along with the 'night raid reports'.
I thought this may be an opportune time to familiarize some members with these type of maps, combined with a 'challenge'.
The first map report has the bomber stream on the target, as listed.
Take a close look at the layout of the land, rivers etc.
Can you name this target?
Can you name the date of the target?
Good luck!
John

Berlin - ye olde tramlines; ie straight in. Bombing concentrated around Reinickendorf, Moabit and Charlottenburg. Not so easy to match to a Raid Report but I'll go for 26/27th November 1943 - the fourth in the Battle of Berlin (unless you follow Martin M's logic and include the three early autumn raids as part of the Battle).

Thanks Max, I'll keep that in mind for the next 10 years or so!ME453 wrote:Believe it or not, the Battle of Berlin just happens to be Richard's area of specialism!!!!

In the meantime, well done Richard although there was a little variation on the date.
I've been fortunate enough to have received from a good friend, the Night Raid Reports from September 43 onwards.
They indeed have a lot of information.
Cheers,
John
