Hello,
First post which hopefully someone doing research may be able to use,in France this year at St Gilles croix d vie and when abroad always pay a visit to the local cemetery to see if there are British service men or resistance fighters etc buried within and T Smith along with an unnamed RAF sergeant are buried there both with the date 18.5.1943,photos are on the CWGC site, from what i have read it would seem possible that the crew had been on perhaps a supply drop to the Resistance.
For any relatives who may be reading be assured the graves are immaculate as per normal.

Mick, not a supply drop to the resistance, but a "Gardening" (Sea Mining) op to the area off La Rochelle.
There is no paralell in warfare, to such courage and determination in the face of danger, over so long a period. Such devotion, should never be forgotten.
