Short Stirling & RAF Bomber Command Forum

Hi - thank you for adding me to your forum.

I am researching a member of my family - Thomas Harold Harris (1201186). He was killed on 8 Dec 1942 whilst flying with 149 Sqn. He was an Air Gunner.
The information I have is as follows:-

Operation:Gardening
Type Stirling 1
Serial: W7639
Code OJ-Q

I understand that the aircraft experienced technical difficulties and crashed in Suffolk, in an attempt to return to Lakenheath, but I know very little else. I don't have any photos of Thomas.

If anyone has any photos of the crew or any other information which could help me in learning more about what happened, I would be extremely grateful.
