I came across three files I wanted to have copies at the National Archives. One I was told was closed till 2025. By email I was told f I wanted to request that this was changed I had to do a FOI Request with the TNA. This I did, filled in three forms and returned them. Three/four days later I was told my request had been successful and the file would be opened within the week. It became available and like the others, I applied for it to be copied. I am waiting for my documents now. I didn't know I was doing something new, just following their suggestion to question whether the file should be closed.
