Bombing Effort - Growth and Losses

Post by PAFG »

Hi, just to complement John's post on US/RAF bombing statistics, here's a graph from Harris's final Despatch showing how the bomb tonnage delivered by Bomber Command grows exponentially from 1943 through to the end of the war. I've added in a few milestones as an overlay.

cheers,

Richard

Re: Bombing Effort - rate of growth

Post by PAFG »

Having posted a graph charting the rise of the Command's strength in terms of bomb carrying power, it makes sense to add in a chart showing the loss rate through the war. This shows the effect of RCM measures such as Window very clearly. Poor photography regretted - wasn't expecting to post this on a website when I recorded it originally

cheers,

Richard
