Airspeed Oxford 1/48th scale

At long last somebody other than Sanger has seen the light and produced an Airspeed Oxford in my prefered scale! The Oxford was of course an essential stage in the future pilot's graduation towards 4 engined heavies, as well as being used for navigation, bombing, gunnery and radio training. It was said that if you could fly an Oxford satisfactorily, you could fly anything since they demanded skill and attention at all times.
I'm doing mine as one based at No. 3 (P)AFU South Cerney in the spring of 1944, where beam pattern approach training was done at nearby Bibury.

I've been working on the model for a couple of weeks and I'm getting close to closing up the fuselage:
Internal detail is pretty good so to try displaying this.....
I cut out the door opening. It meant scratch-building a new door from plasticard.
Cockpit detail is also good, this was an early shot with items temporarily placed in position.
A dry fit of fuselage to wings; I was aware of an issue at the wingroots from somebody else's build so I wanted to investigate it before getting to the gluing stage.

I'm not sure what old Parky's implying but well done Richard for ignoring the curmudgeon's comments! I'm building the model as a full review for the online magazine "Scale Modelling Now" so time is an issue.

Lovely work in the cockpit there Max. I'm still trying to get my head around being able to do all that finer detail stuff.

Great work on the engines, it really lifts them. You must've been to Specsavers...
