Aircraft Identification Challenge 180

Post by K4KittyCrew »

OK, here is your next aircraft identification challenge ................. can you name this aircraft type, only.

Just to spice this one up a bit ................... each member can ONLY have one crack at the answer.

Can't show too many images but here is the first one. Good luck!

Definately has the look of contra rotating props about it, very similar to this picture.

A pair of Spitfires FR Mk. XVIII of No. 208 Squadron over the Mediterranean.

Answer Update and further clue to remaining members - This is not a spitfire of any mark.

Yes Gents, John has got the money on this one. Well done John L.
To me, it is a spitfire with thinner wings being about the only real difference ............ well, I'll stand corrected from a more knowledgeable person. ( wouldn't be hard )
Cheers,
John

IIRC a Spiteful/Seafang had a redesigned laminar flow wing which was subsequently used on the Attacker
